Kula Shaker are an English psychedelic rock band led by frontman Crispian Mills. Emerging in the late 1990s, they gained fame during the Post-Britpop era with hits like Tattva, Hey Dude, Govinda, Hush, and Sound of Drums. Their debut album, K, topped the UK Albums Chart and is considered a standout release of its time. Kula Shaker are known for blending British rock with traditional Indian music, instruments, and Sanskrit lyrics, reflecting their interest in Indian culture and mysticism. After an initial split in 1999, the band reunited and has continued to release new music, including recent albums 1st Congregational Church of Eternal Love and Free Hugs in 2022 and Natural Magick in 2024.
