Questionably Barbershop is a detailed virtual instrument sample library that emulates a 4-piece male vocal ensemble, designed in the traditional style of an old-time Barbershop Quartet. This library, crafted by Soundiron, features the vocal talents of Mike Peaslee, Gregg Stephens, and Spencer Nunamaker. It offers basic chromatic sustains and staccato articulations, improvised scat and bebop phrases, and even a classic Americana folk song construction kit broken down line-by-line with each vocal part accessible in several different root keys. From deep booming bass to soaring high tenor falsetto, this library provides easy 4-part harmony in a box.

Each singer performed three types of sustains and staccatos: Doo, Lah, and Woh. These can also act as pure Oo, Ah, and Oh vowel sounds, with adjustable durations and attack shaping. The advanced scripting allows automatic 4-part harmony voicing in the Ensemble Sustains and Staccatos presets, ensuring the Lead is heard first, the Bass in his appropriate range, and the Tenor for high notes. The Unison mode allows all four voices to sing over the entire key range, and the Auto-pan feature spreads the singers over the stereo field for a wide sound.

The Scat 'N Bebop phrase section includes 356 improvised phrases, with real-time tempo-synching and time-stretching. Phrases are provided in root keys of C, E, and G#, easily transposed to other keys. Additionally, a DSP Rack panel includes multi-effects, compression, EQ, amp/speaker simulation, and convolution reverb with dozens of room, hall, chamber, cathedral, and FX impulses.
