Devonté Hynes, also known as Blood Orange and formerly Lightspeed Champion, is an English musician, producer, and composer based in New York City. Beginning his career as part of Test Icicles from 2004 to 2006, he later launched his solo work, releasing two albums as Lightspeed Champion and five as Blood Orange between 2008 and 2019. Renowned for his genre-blending style, Hynes has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Solange, FKA Twigs, Haim, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Mariah Carey, contributing as a writer, producer, and performer across pop, R&B, and alternative music.
