Clint Mansell, born on November 7, 1963, is an English composer and musician known for his work in film scores. He first gained recognition as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Pop Will Eat Itself before transitioning to composing for movies. After moving to the United States, Mansell became well known for his collaborations with director Darren Aronofsky, creating memorable scores for films such as Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan, and Noah. His haunting piece Lux Aeterna from Requiem for a Dream has been widely used in film trailers and other media. Mansell has also composed music for films like Moon, Stoker, and several works by Ben Wheatley, as well as for television and video games. He has received a Golden Globe nomination for The Fountain and multiple Grammy nominations for Black Swan.
