Gary Moore (1952–2011) was a celebrated Northern Irish guitarist known for his exceptional skill and versatility across blues, rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and jazz fusion. Beginning his career with Skid Row in the late 1960s, he later joined Thin Lizzy alongside longtime friend Phil Lynott. Moore found solo success with the iconic song Parisienne Walkways in 1979 and, after a period exploring heavier rock and metal styles, returned to blues with the hit album Still Got the Blues in 1990. He was widely admired as a guitar virtuoso, influenced musicians worldwide, and was closely linked to the famous 1959 Gibson Les Paul originally owned by Peter Green. Honoured by both Gibson and Fender with signature guitars, Moore remains regarded as one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of his generation.
