Phish is an American rock band that originated in Burlington, Vermont in 1983. The current lineup features Trey Anastasio on guitar and lead vocals, Mike Gordon on bass, Jon Fishman on drums, and Page McConnell on keyboards, all of whom contribute vocals. Renowned for their energetic live shows, Phish is highly regarded for their improvisational style and lengthy jam sessions, attracting a passionate and loyal fan base. Their music covers a wide range of genres, including funk, progressive rock, jazz, bluegrass, and more, making their concerts unique and unpredictable. Much of their material is written by Anastasio and longtime collaborator Tom Marshall. After brief periods of hiatus and lineup changes in their early years, Phish has performed together consistently since reuniting in 2009. Over their career, they gained a reputation as leading figures of the jam band scene, inspired by groups like the Grateful Dead. Phish was signed to Elektra Records before creating their own label, JEMP Records, and have sold over eight million albums and DVDs in the United States. The band members also pursue solo projects alongside their work with Phish.
