Stray Kids is a South Korean boy band formed by JYP Entertainment, consisting of eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. Woojin departed the group in 2019. Known for their dynamic performances and innovative sound, Stray Kids stand out in K-pop for largely self-producing their music, led by the in-house team 3Racha, which includes Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han. Unusually for K-pop, the group was assembled by leader Bang Chan, who handpicked the lineup before the group’s debut reality show in 2017. Stray Kids made their official debut in 2018 and quickly rose to prominence with the release of the I Am and Clé series. Their 2020 album Go Live became their first platinum record, and soon after, they made a successful debut in Japan. Stray Kids achieved their first million-selling album with Noeasy in 2021 and have since consistently topped both the US Billboard 200 and UK Albums Chart with later releases including Oddinary, Maxident, Rock-Star, and 5-Star. With over 31 million albums sold as of late 2024, Stray Kids is recognized as a leading force in global K-pop, earning recognition from outlets like Time magazine and setting new benchmarks for self-produced idol groups.
