Yes is an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968. Known for their complex arrangements and ambitious albums, Yes quickly became pioneers of the progressive rock genre. Over the years, the band has included many members, with notable figures such as singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarists Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin, drummers Bill Bruford and Alan White, and keyboardists Tony Kaye and Rick Wakeman. Starting with a blend of original songs and covers, Yes found major success in the 1970s with albums like The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge, featuring hits such as "Roundabout". Their music is known for intricate musicianship, adventurous compositions, elaborate live shows, and iconic album artwork by Roger Dean. In the 1980s, the band embraced a more pop-oriented sound, achieving their biggest commercial success with the album 90125 and the chart-topping single "Owner of a Lonely Heart". Despite frequent changes in lineup, Yes has continued to tour and record. Their extensive discography includes 23 studio albums and over 30 million records sold worldwide. Yes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 and remains one of progressive rock's most influential and enduring acts. The current lineup, as of 2023, features Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Billy Sherwood, Jon Davison, and Jay Schellen.
