Of Monsters and Men is an Icelandic indie folk rock band formed in 2010 in Garðabær. The group features Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir on vocals and guitar, Ragnar Raggi Þórhallsson on vocals and guitar, Brynjar Leifsson on lead guitar, Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson on drums, and Kristján Páll Kristjánsson on bass. They gained early recognition after winning Iceland’s Músíktilraunir battle of the bands and released their debut EP Into the Woods in 2011. Their first album, My Head Is an Animal, became an international hit, reaching the top of charts in several countries and featuring the widely successful single Little Talks. Known for their rich, anthemic sound and storytelling, the band received the European Border Breakers Award in 2013.
