The Oktava MK-220 is a large-diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphone based upon the renowned MK-319.
It features built in -10dB pad and high-pass filter. The MK-220 has two active 28mm diaphragms, and a rotary switch that allows selection of Cardioid, Omni, or Figure of eight pickup patterns. This makes the microphone extremely versatile – perfect choice for more sophisticated stereo miking techniques such as Blumlein and Mid-Side.
The MK-220 has a special rich, warm sound thanks to the output transformer that gives some coloration and character. The high frequencies are smooth unlike many modern large diaphragm microphones.
This makes it a perfect choice for recording: vocals, acoustic guitars, guitar amps, wood wind instruments and choirs. Thanks to it’s switchable polar patterns it makes a great room mic.
