Operation Ivy was a punk rock band from Berkeley, California, formed in 1987. As pioneers of the East Bay Sound and key figures in the early days of Lookout Records, the band made a major impact despite releasing only one album, Energy, before disbanding in 1989. Operation Ivy's fusion of punk and ska left a lasting mark, directly influencing the third wave ska movement and leading to the formation of the band Rancid.
