Talk Talk was an English band formed in 1981 by Mark Hollis, Lee Harris, Paul Webb, and Simon Brenner. Starting out as a synth-pop group, they found early chart success with their first two albums, The Party's Over and It's My Life, featuring hits like Talk Talk and Such a Shame. By the mid-80s, with the release of The Colour of Spring, the band moved toward a more organic and critically acclaimed sound. Their later albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, became influential for their experimental, post-rock style but saw less commercial success. Internal tensions and legal disputes led to their breakup in the early 90s. Afterward, Mark Hollis released a solo album before retiring, while other members pursued new musical projects. Talk Talk is remembered for their evolution from pop to pioneering, atmospheric music.
