Frank Ocean, born Christopher Edwin Breaux on October 28, 1987, is an American singer and songwriter known for redefining alternative R and B. Emerging first as a ghostwriter, he later joined the hip hop collective Odd Future and gained widespread attention with his independent mixtape Nostalgia Ultra in 2011. His debut album, Channel Orange, blended R and B and soul influences, earning him major Grammy wins and international recognition. In 2016, he released the visual album Endless and followed it with Blonde, an acclaimed and genre-bending project that topped charts and was celebrated by critics. Both Channel Orange and Blonde are included in Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest albums of all time. Since then, Ocean has released select singles, ventured into photography and fashion with his brand Homer, and launched Homer Radio. He is recognized as a leading voice in contemporary music, with multiple platinum releases and several songs charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
