Naevus is a British experimental rock band formed in London in 1998 by Lloyd James and Joanne Owen. Initially associated with the neofolk genre, their music draws influences from post-punk, industrial, and progressive rock, often compared to artists like Swans and Wire. After releasing four albums as a duo, Naevus expanded to a four-piece, leading to the critically acclaimed album Silent Life. Their subsequent releases, including Relatively Close to the Sea, further showcased their evolution with more melodic and progressive elements. The band has continued to develop their sound across a series of albums and EPs, maintaining a distinctive and evolving presence within the underground music scene.
